Stroll in the park
The park
Domaine du Bal is a reasonably landscaped island, a remote neighbor to the farmland of the Pays d’Auge.
This expanse oscillates between park and garden.
- Variety of tree species: lime, birch, oak, willow, larch, etc.
- Variety of plants: bamboos, yukas, and endemic shoots.
- A variety of flowers: roses, hydrangeas, tulips and other botanical curiosities.
We invite friends of gardens and nature to gently explore the various nooks and crannies of this one-hectare green space.
Don’t hesitate to indulge in Shirin Yoku, the Japanese immersive meditative bath we’re so fond of, which can involve first connecting with the sylvan empire by mentally embracing and cuddling the essence, the subject that seems to be calling you.
If you blend in peacefully, you might be lucky enough to come across some of our harmless friends, deer or seagulls, during your stay.
The Domaine du Bal ecosystem is regulated by a natural pond, a small, shallow body of stagnant water that feeds the grounds and the park’s tree species.
As a closed ecosystem, this pond is ecologically rich, with no escape for water other than evaporation or infiltration.
Thank you, Domaine du Bal visitors, for preserving this aquatic interface, essential for feeding the biodiversity we want to defend.
Don’t spill any liquids, don’t feed any animals that come to drink or live there, and of course don’t litter.
This pond is a living and breeding ground for diverse, abundant and often rare flora and fauna.
Ponds represent a vulnerable ecological heritage, confronted with the progress associated with our new lifestyles; the majority have lost their former functions and are now abandoned, polluted or even filled in. It is estimated that 50% of French ponds have disappeared since 1950.
